We congratulate and thank all of our past contest participants. Special appreciation to all contest winners who also support Bread & Roses by sharing their talent with our isolated audiences.

Laura Benward, 2015 Giants contest winner, has been a volunteer performer since 2004, sharing familiar folk songs with audiences young and old. Countless children in hospitals have enjoyed Laura’s visits as “Glenda the Good Witch” from the Wizard of Oz.

Damond Moodie, 2015 A’s contest winner, has been volunteering with Bread & Roses since 2006 as a solo guitar and vocalist. His contemporary rock band The Lemonhammer started doing shows in 2011 for adult audiences in facilities like the SF County Jail and St. Anthony Foundation’s Father Alfred Center and was also featured in Bread & Roses’s video.

A young rising star and 2017 A’s contest winner, Caroline Sky is a beloved volunteer performer for Bread & Roses who has performed for Center Point drug and alcohol recovery center and the Cedars of Marin, a center for developmentally disabled adults.

We also congratulate the second place winners through the years, including Chris Bryden, John Nash, Susan Zelinsky, Felicia Foster, Shannon Bryant and Evan Karp. We are thrilled to see the results of the engineered recording studio time at Fantasy Studios. Chris Bryden brought his group The Lightworkers Union which included Robin Applewood, Kevin Coleman, Daniel Erik, Jordan Feinstein, Tony Glaser, Andy Kallick, Francesca Lee, and the T Sisters to record their track "Keepers of the Light." Their song pays homage to well-known peace advocates and reminds us all to "echo in their footsteps."  The Lightworkers Union is a valued group who perform uplifting shows for many of our isolated audiences.

Evan Karp with his brother Miles Karp of Turk and Divis visited Fantasy Studios in June 2018 to record a new album. We can’t wait to hear the finished product!

You can still participate in this year’s contest to sing at the Oakland A’s or SF Giants game, or vote for your favorite contestant! Both of the 2018 contests are in full swing now - visit the contest site to enter and donate to vote!

Vote early! Vote often! Support Bread & Roses!
