Incredible 2019 Spring Benefit Concert Line-up - Feat. Lucius and The Nude Party

The innovative indie-pop band Lucius, The Nude Party and Musical Host Matt Jaffe will perform at Bread & Roses Spring Benefit Concert on Thursday April 25, 2019 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.

Tickets: VIP $350/pre-concert reception at 6 pm. General Admission $125/door at 7:15 pm/concert 7:45pm. Contact us for Sponsorships. The major annual fundraiser supports hope and healing through live music in over 600 yearly institutional programs for isolated Bay Area folks.

Lucius is a four-piece indie-pop band from Brooklyn, New York fronted by the enchanting vocalists Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig who recently wrapped up back-up singer duties on Roger Waters world tour. The band has drawn acclaim for their powerful songs showcasing taut hooks along with their mesmerizing stage presence and bold visual aesthetics. The New York Times described Wolfe and Laessig’s vocals as being “especially gorgeous,” while Rolling Stone says Lucius is “powerful enough to knock you over.” Talented multi-instrumentalists Peter Lalish and Dan Molad round out the group. Their appearance at our benefit kicks off their intimate 2019 tour in support of last year’s critically-acclaimed acoustic album NUDES.

The Nude Party is a psychedelic rock band tottering between the British invasion and classic southern rock. Fronted by lead singer Patton Magee, the band functions more like brothers than band-mates. Their high-energy live shows feature tight tunes reminiscent of The Animals and the Velvet Underground. Their recent move from Boone, North Carolina to New York’s Catskills has cemented this “work hard/play hard” band that is now recording music under the mentorship of Black Lips drummer Oakley Munson who produced their self-titled debut album in 2018.

Our musical host for the evening is rising star Matt Jaffe, a Bay Area singer-songwriter/guitarist who was first produced by Jerry Harrison of the Talking Heads. He started playing at open mics when he was thirteen-years-old. He has been a volunteer performer for Bread & Roses institutional shows for the past decade and is currently a member of our Board of Directors. Matt has opened for many acclaimed artists including a recent tour with Blues Traveler. Matt’s new release The Spirit Catches You aims to bring the guitar gospel back to the masses.

Tickets are available for this very special evening of live music and performance art brought to you by Jeff and Laurie Ubben. Sponsor and VIP tickets include reserved seating and an exclusive pre-concert reception with wine and hors d’oeuvres. Event Committee members include: Gene Barnes, Robin Eber, Adam Fells, Lane Murchison, Stacy Nelson, Terry Noyer, Philip Pillsbury III, Tucky Pogue, Kay Tittle.

Proceeds sustain Bread & Roses ongoing program of over 600 annual shows for diverse youth, adults and seniors who are isolated in Bay Area institutional settings. Don’t miss this once in a lifetime show of extraordinary contemporary artists and help to uplift the lives of isolated folks who need music most.
