Turning isolation into joy.
Nearly every day of the year, Bread & Roses Presents shares hope and healing through live music and other performing arts for our isolated neighbors in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our programs uplift the spirits of low income children who don't have access to live performance, young people who are struggling to make better choices, families in homeless shelters, seniors nearing their end of live transitions, and others living apart from friends and family while facing challenging times.
In 2017 we presented 635 shows in 122 facilities in eight Bay Area counties; on average more than one show every day of the year. We showcased the talents of more than 1,000 volunteer musicians and other performers to bring joy to over 36,000 isolated audience members, 60 percent of whom are minority. Over half of our shows are hosted by volunteers. We invite you to join our community of volunteers by filling out our application here.
Bread & Roses Presents institutional shows are not open to the public; however, we invite our supporters to contact us to make special arrangements to attend a show. We are always eager to share with you firsthand the impact your generosity has on the isolated audiences we serve.
